How we turned our Rate Card into a fun piece of Content Marketing
When we receive a new business inquiry it normally goes one of three ways. The prospective client/s will either:
- Ask us to set up a meeting, or
- Ask us to send over a quote, or
- Ask to see our rate card
When it comes to the first two options, we find that having a sit down meeting or providing a detailed quote gives us plenty of opportunity to convince them of the value of working with Hot Butter Studio.
But we found number three a little more tricky. We decided that we needed our Rate Card to have a real wow factor, to really represent our brand and show the client what we could achieve.
Rather than send over a boring document with a list of prices, we turned our Rate Card into a quirky piece of content marketing. Using the large place-mat style menus that you would find in a cheesy American style restaurant as inspiration, we created our own menu.
Our menu listed our various prices and also included some fun little elements to encourage engagement with our audience. The kids section included a puzzle maze to highlight our seeding strategies (for e.g. help make the internet go viral on the internet) and a connect-the-dots puzzle to initiate a dialogue on social media. The idea behind the connect-the-dots was to get people to tweet us back with the answer and receive a $100 discount of their first infographic.

Also in the Kids Section we created a Maze to highlight out Seeding Strategies. Help the infographic go viral!
I am really proud of our rate card and it has been proven to pretty successful.
At the moment we are in the process of creating a new rate card because we have grown and so too have our services but it will be sad to retire this one.
